Key technical indicators of activated carbon for VOCs adsorption Appendix | Methods for identifying high-quality activated carbon

As we all know, the adsorbents commonly used in industrial VOCs treatment are activated carbon, activated alumina, silica gel and molecular sieves. Activated carbon is a general term for many carbon-based substances with adsorption properties. There are many types of activated carbon, which are mainly divided into three categories according to the source of raw materials: coal-based carbon, fruit shell carbon (professional VOCs treatment RTO, RCO, CO, condenser, spray tower, activated carbon/resin/zeolite adsorption and desorption equipment manufacturers: Fan 13141458653 WeChat) and wood. We have shared knowledge about activated carbon many times. Today we will share the key technical indicators of different activated carbons:

Activated carbon index

There are many main indexes to measure the adsorption performance of activated carbon. Depending on the purpose, the indexes for judging its performance are also different:

In liquid phase adsorption, iodine adsorption value is an important index;

In gas phase adsorption, carbon tetrachloride (CTC) adsorption value is the main index.

Honeycomb activated carbon

Honeycomb activated carbon is mainly composed of active carbon powder, clay, binder and other materials, which are fully mixed and stirred evenly and then extruded into shape. The advantage is that the wind resistance is small and it is suitable for engineering projects with large air volume. Therefore, when choosing honeycomb activated carbon, the carbon tetrachloride (CTC) adsorption value should be mainly referred to.
